Mission US
In Mission US, students answer a series of history questions based on the time period that the game is set in. There are tree distinct missions, one set in colonial times, one set in the Civil War South, and one focused on the Cheyenne People.
To progress in the game and complete the mission, students must answer the questions they are given in enough time to complete the task. There are 10 stops per mission, but you must answer the question correctly to progress to the next stop. If you take to long you will fail the mission and receive a lower star rating. In the first mission, For Crown or Colony? You must find Thimble the dog.
The questions students answer pertain to major historical events, culture of the time, and important historical figures. The screenshots below show an example of a question.
If you get the answer right it tells the student why the answer was correct and then allows you to move on to the next stop if you get it wrong, you must answer questions until you get a correct answer.
This website could be useful as a great in class review of the time period. Once we are finished studying each era in history I could use the mission to evaluate if my students have learned the material. The website is also great for at home practice. There is no signup required, so any student with internet access can get online and immediately access the game just by going to the website. By also using it in class, any student who might not have internet access will be able to benefit from the games as well.
