eduClipper v. Pinterest
eduClipper and Pinterest are both applications that allow the user to "pin" web content, such as pictures or websites, to a board where all of those individuals pins are compiled.
Pinterest only allows you to "repin" other users pins or to create new ones from the web, which you do by installing an extension in your internet browser. I've steadily been creating a board for my future classroom (Pictures Below)
And while Pinterest helps to compile ideas for lessons and classroom organization. eduClipper allows me to use it actually in the classroom with my students. eduClipper has a feature called whiteboard which allows you to make a streaming video of whatever you write on it. Below is an image of the whiteboard feature as well as a video I made of it that I uploaded to YouTube.
I think both application have their uses in the classroom. Pinterest is a great tool to find other classroom management or organization ideas, as well as potential lessons. However, eduClipper is better for actual classroom use. I am able to share original content through the whiteboard feature and get more specific educational content through it. If I had to choose one application to use in the classroom it would be eduClipper, but Pinterest is a great way for me to get all of my other ideas about my classroom flowing.
